Lymington - Around and About

Close to Lymington is the New Forest, the largest area of open land in Southern England. Here ponies, deer and pigs all roam freely. Access to the Forest is easy, with many signposted walks and nature trails. Several riding stables offer horse riding, with lessons available for all ages. Bicycles may also be hired.

Lymington High Street shops are a ten minute walk away. Also, at the entrance to the Yacht Haven, Nick Cox, chandler, sells necessities such as newspapers and ice cream!

There are three golf courses close by, at Brockenhurst, Bournemouth and Barton. A new course has now also opened across the river at Woolhampton.

There are delightful sandy beaches at Highcliffe, Mudeford, Boscombe and Bournemouth.

- Exbury Gardens are also both well worth a visit.
- Musical entertainment can be found at Bournemouth, which has its own symphony orchestra.
- Open-air concerts are held throughout the summer in the grounds of Beaulieu Abbey.
- There is music at Lymington's riverside band stand at weekends.
